What made you decide to become a teacher? Many educators claim that teaching was always their dream profession, a passion that was clear from a young age. Unlike other educators, my ambition was to work as a juvenile probation officer, which led me earn an Associate degree from Jefferson State Community College and participate in multiple jail tours. Although I was initially excited about launching my career, my friend's struggles to find employment after being laid off from a similar role, caused me to reconsider my career path. As a result, I decide to take a brief hiatus from my studies and explore other opportunities, eventually finding employment at a daycare. It was during my first week in this role that I realized my true calling. After spending two-years at the daycare, I secured a position as a Pre-K aide within the school system, which further deepened my love for teaching.
